e-Privacy Regulation

In January 2017, the European Commission published a proposal to adapt the protection of privacy in electronic communications to technological evolutions. The new regulation will repeal the current directive and complement the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), in effect since May 2018, to further modernize the EU data protection framework and reinforce trust in the Digital Single Market. The EBU supports an updated e-privacy regulation that establishes proportionate and consistent data protection safeguards.
