This document is intended for technical managers of EBU members. The recommendations in this document are based on EBU tests of HDTV studio compression codecs and HDTV broadcast encoders performed in 2007.
The document postulates the necessary spectrum needed for 2015, which is the end of the analogue-to-digital broadcast transition period for Region 1(GE06). The latest developments in HDTV, DVB-H, T-DAB and DAB-IP broadcasting technology are taken into account.
