Going Mobile: The smartphone is your Swiss Army Knife for powerful newsgathering

The smartphone is a powerful newsgathering tool. It allows you to feed raw or edited video material on location, create quality video content and even report live into your programmes.

This is hugely important in a breaking story situation. Whether it is edited packages or short videos for social media, journalists need to have these skills.

This course is part of the EBU Academy Regional Learning Hubs. You will learn how to get the best video quality out of your phone, the basic shots you need and how to edit video using an app on your phone.

You will also understand why live-streaming is so important and how to get the best results when streaming from your phone.
