How to harness the power of online communities

Social platforms have increased the possibilities for individuals who share an interest to come together in vibrant online communities. For broadcasters, online communities constitute audiences that organizations can involve, engage and crowdsource to enrich and develop new forms of media content.

This Master Class will help you understand how you can build your role within existing communities, contribute to the creation of new ones and benefit from their dynamics to co-create media content that is relevant for the audience at large.

It will also explore how to effectively moderate meaningful debate around controversial and devicive issues.

There will be a number of inspiring case studies from Europe that will show how public service media values can be promoted and applied.

The Master Class will also include a live presentation and Q and A with the co-founder of Starship Media, USA, an organisation that has attempted to build a social discussion around the polarising issue of American politics.
