Strategies for successfully launching and building an audience around a podcast

According to the Listen Notes podcast database, there are currently over 3 million podcasts and 185 million episodes. In this environment, every new podcast starts with an audience of zero so finding and building an audience takes arguably as much work as the creation process itself. So, what can public media organisations do to find, build and maintain audiences for their great new content in 2024?

In this session, we hear two different approaches to launching and building an audience around a podcast. Caroline Pouron, Head of Digital Content at Swedish Radio, and Bella Qvist, Project Lead, talk about how they are using their cross-functional team project to grow audiences for their podcasts.

Tanya Springer, Senior Manager of Growth at CBC Podcasts, talks about the strategies and tactics they use to find audiences for their new shows.
