Work with us

Our mission is to secure a sustainable future for public service media – but it wouldn’t be possible without our people. We have more than 40 different nationalities working at our head office in Geneva and at satellite offices worldwide. We work together to deliver services to 112 Member organizations, ranging from great content to technical support to major events (including the world’s biggest live music event, the Eurovision Song Contest). Follow us on LinkedIn to find out more.

I strongly believe that the EBU is an organization where it’s possible to make a difference, whatever your role or department. We welcome staff input and have various forums for feedback, whether through our regular staff surveys or our monthly live Q&As with senior management. Everyone has a voice. It shapes our culture, it enables us to learn from each other, respect and appreciate our different experiences and backgrounds. It makes for rich collaborations and creative thinking. It's what makes the EBU special and a truly inspiring place to work."

Why the EBU?

Be part of something special. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, you can deliver game-changing work across multiple disciplines at the EBU. Here’s a flavour of what to expect:

  • People are central to everything we do. Inclusion of a diversity of peoples, perspectives and experiences is not only the right thing to do, but it also ensures authenticity, creativity and innovation remain at the heart of public service media – and that all audiences feel well represented.

That’s why Diversity Equity & Inclusion is a cornerstone of our work and strategy. Here at the EBU we’re working towards full spectrum diversity. We want to ensure that our work is enriched by the inclusion of all peoples with talent. We also want to enable peoples from traditionally underrepresented groups to make it through and participate fully, whatever their gender, ethnic or racial background, their disability, age, sexual orientation or socio-economic background.

Equal work should mean equal pay. In 2024, EBU achieved a significant milestone in workplace equality, following a rigorous compliance review based on the Fair-ON-Pay standard. Read the full story.

The EBU was also the first organization in the public service media sector to be granted EQUAL-SALARY certification, which was awarded by the EQUAL-SALARY Foundation in 2020.

Free parking? Tick. Views of the mountains? Tick. A gym, free tea and coffee? Tick, tick, and tick! At our Geneva headquarters, we offer a comfortable working environment with a mixture of open plan office space for collaborative working and separate small offices and meeting rooms that can be also used for deep thinking and quiet time. We also know how important it is for our staff to be able to work remotely when needed too, with a dedicated employee policy geared towards flexible working schedules (and work-life balance) and ensuring our employees are in the best possible place (physically and mentally) to get the job done.

We all need to stay well. It’s too easy to be caught up in information overload, overbearing demands and a disconnect in work-life balance. We’re committed to prioritizing the health of our employees. We offer a workplace gym, dedicated wellness programmes, counselling and mindfulness options. We encourage social events among staff organized by our dedicated after-work group as well as live cooking demos, a book club and more. Creating shared experiences creates a real sense of community and belonging.

A big part of our culture is encouraging staff to tell us when we get things right and when things aren’t working. In our six-monthly staff surveys, we ask for honest opinions on workload, priorities, work relationships and environments so that we can find better ways of working for all.

We have three dedicated staff working groups who tackle issues relating to topics that our employees have identified as priorities: Growth & Recognition, Work-Life Balance and Working Environment.

  • At the EBU, I was given the opportunity to work with so many departments, such as music, sport and news. So it was very interesting to be able to be on different projects and not to be stuck with only one topic, one project every time.”
