This year’s Eurovision Fiction Experts Group will take place in Fontainebleau in the framework of the 4th season of Série Series.

This year’s Eurovision Fiction Experts Group will take place in Fontainebleau, France on Tuesday 30 June 2015 in the framework of the 4^th season of SÉRIE SERIES (1^st – 3^rd July 2015), the first event devoted exclusively to European TV Series.

PUBLIC SERVICE CONTENT AND BUSINESS IN TIMES OF GROWING FICTION MARKETS

• ZDF and DR and the art of funding international drama
  Susanne Müller, Head of Feature Films & International Series / ZDF (Germany) and Lars Hermann, Deputy Head of Drama / DR (Denmark) describe their public service strategies. 
   

• Fiscal incentives – a growing trend in funding European TV drama
  New fiscal systems are already helping internalize media in 17 European countries. What are the real pros and cons? Why do some countries still lack these incentives?
  Through enlightening case studies, Bert Mispelters, Business Manager / VRT (Belgium) will explain how a tax shelter helps Flemish VRT guarantee a strong position for its own TV drama in times of savings. 

• Demanding drama that attracts millions
  It is a cultural imperative for public service companies to produce challenging TV drama. We will take a look at demanding series that have reached large domestic audiences and international markets. French hit crime series The Witnesses (France 2) is now travelling from France to the UK (Channel 4). In Norway, NRK has achieved the highest ratings ever with The Heavy Water War that reveals how Hitler’s atomic bomb was stopped. Is the new comedy-drama fiction TV series Station Horizon (RTS), next in line? 

• Networking
  Confidential conclave discussions on the role of public service during a session dedicated to “the TV drama markets of tomorrow”.  Networking lunch and dinner!

All these important issues will be discussed by international experts, experienced and upcoming TV Drama professionals.
