The EBU Podcast Forum 2024 will take place on 29 and 30 August in Berlin, Germany, at the kind invitation of rbb. The event is a golden opportunity to exchange audio formats and take a deep dive into all things related to podcasts and public service media.

The EBU Podcast Forum brings together senior podcast professionals and producers to discuss all topics related to building a successful podcast strategy, podcast production and formats. It’s also an opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in areas such as benchmarking for audio content, KPIs for commissioning, efficient internal production workflows and cross-team cooperation, and the development of new formats. The agenda combines knowledge sharing with format presentations, and this year we are also introducing focused in-depth workshops.

This event is open to EBU Members only. It will be of interest to podcast producers, content creators, programme directors, heads of digital, heads of programming, heads of podcast teams, etc. Anyone working for a public service broadcaster, producing podcast formats, developing podcast strategies, or working with on-demand content and platforms is welcome to join.

Happy birthday, podcasts!

This year the Podcast Forum will align with the ARD festival “House of Podcast” festival celebrating the 20th anniversary of podcasting. The event is open to the public and runs from 30 August to 1 September 2024, also at rbb.

Call for podcast formats

An important element of the EBU Podcast Forum is the pitching of formats that have been submitted to the call for podcast formats. It's a unique opportunity to present your work directly to your peer network and exchange knowledge or formats in person during the event.

The Call for Podcasts will also be used as the basis for a catalogue that will be published ahead of the event and shared with the entire EBU radio community.

The call, closing on 31 May, seeks inspiring and innovative podcasts that have the potential to be successfully adapted in another country. While any podcast can be submitted (and also ideas for new joint productions), this year’s special focus is on 'always-on shows' (as opposed to short-run intensive series). Detailed guidelines and information on how to submit your work can be found on our call for podcast formats page.
