EBU congratulates new Director General of CISAC
10 juin 2011Geneva, 10 June 2011 – The European Broadcasting Union (EBU)* congratulates Mr Olivier Hinnewinkel on his appointment as the new Director General of the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC).
Before joining CISAC, Mr Hinnewinkel headed the European Broadcasting Union's operational activities in both the USA and the Asia-Pacific region. He was also in charge of marketing and business at the EBU's headquarters in Geneva.
"The appointment of Mr Hinnewinkel can only strengthen our long history of cooperation with CISAC," said Ingrid Deltenre, the Director General of the EBU. "We look forward to continuing our work together to modernize copyright including rights clearance in a way that is efficient for broadcasters and respectful of rightsholders’ interests."
The EBU was recently a partner organization of CISAC's World Copyright Summit in Brussels on 7 & 8 June 2011**.
