Industry awards: EBU Members win prestigious HOT BIRD ™ TV awards

The winners of this year's HOT BIRD ™ TV Awards, the unique international event distinguishing the quality of content creation and innovation by thematic satellite television channels, were honoured on November 25 at a gala ceremony in Venice in the company of over 200 international broadcasting executives.
Winning public and private channels from eight countries reflected the vitality of the satellite broadcasting market and its capacity to innovate. Founded in 1998, the Awards comprise 10 thematic categories.
[HotBirdAwards] Several EBU Members were among the winners, including: Spain's TVE Internacional which won the award for best European Satellite news channel (National Window category), RAI Storia which received a special mention in the Culture/Education category and RAI 5 in the Lifestyle category, France Ô in the Music category and BBC Arabic in the News category.
Director of TVE's Canal 24 Horas and Chairman of the EBU News Committee Asun Gomez-Bueno (pictured right) was on site to accept the award on behalf of TVE International.
