Rémy Pflimlin is new president of Prix Italia

The Prix Italia General Assembly recently appointed Rémy Pflimlin as its new President.

Born in 1954 and a graduate from HEC (Hautes Etudes Commerciales / French Business High School), Rémy Pflimlin began his career in 1979 at Jours de France (a large-circulation weekly magazine) before joining Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace in 1985.

In June, 1991, he joined the Société alsacienne de publications, publisher of L’Alsace, a large-circulation regional newspaper, becoming President of its Management Board from 1993 to 1999. In 1999, he joined France 3 as General Manager, then in 2006 he became General Manager of Presstalis.  As of 23rd August 2010 Mr Pflimlin is Chairman and CEO of France Télévisions and sits on the European Broadcasting Union's Executive Board.

Mr  Pflimlin is also Chaiman of the steering board of the Higher National Conservatory for Music and Dance (CNSMD) of Paris (since 2005) and of the International Festival of the current Musics (Musica) in Strasbourg (since 2011).
