Martin Kyst elected Chairman of the Copyright Group

Mr Martin Kyst, Legal Adviser, Danmarks Radio (DR), was elected by unanimous acclamation as the new Chairman of the EBU Copyright Group, at its meeting in Brussels on 14 March 2013, succeeding Mr Jean-Pierre Vanden Dorpe (RTBF) who retired in 2012.

Mr Kyst, who joined DR in 2011, will be an asset in promoting the EBU copyright agenda within the EU. His extensive experience in the copyright field includes acting on behalf of the Danish Government in copyright matters in the EU Council working group and in WIPO's SCCR, drafting several of the amendments to the Danish Copyright Act and regulatory work conducted in the Danish Ministry of Culture. Moreover, he has experience as an attorney dealing with intellectual property rights issues in private practice.
