Archive appraisal in Montenegro
25 avril 2013
Experts from France’s National Audiovisual Institute (INA) have begun a three day mission to appraise the audiovisual archives of EBU Member RTCG.
The appraisal is part of an European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Action Plan to assist public service media (PSM) in European Union accession countries preparing for a digital future.
Physical deterioration of analogue archives is a key issue for many broadcasters seeking to preserve thousands of audiovisual items which are part of national and regional cultural heritage.
The EBU in cooperation with INA, has already carried out assessments in several countries in the region.
At the conclusion of the mission, the team will present RTCG with a complete report identifying the quantity of stock to be preserved, its nature and condition, the material resources on offer and the availability of qualified staff to implement the plan.

INA experts Michel Dauzats and Frederic Robinson with the team.
