Turkish public service broadcaster (TRT) is preparing to host the 35^th edition of the International Children’s Festival in Izmir, a city on the west coast of Turkey on the 23^rd April.

Around 700 children from five different continents, aged between 9 and 14 will participate in this year's festival, performing a folk or free style dance in the festival’s colorful gala show.  The Gala show, with its characteristically spectacular choreographies and unforgettable atmosphere, will be aired live on television on 23^rd April. The show is expected to be broadcast in several other countries too.

The Turkish city of Izmir will also be the location of the second International Children and Media Congress (16-18 April) bringing together respected specialists and academics in the field of Children's Media. The theme of this year’s Congress is “The Attitudes of Content Providers in Children’s Media” and will bring together respected specialists and academics in the field of Children's Media.
