Social Media Trends Summit 2015

The Eurovision Social Media Trends Summit (#EVNSocial) is the annual event to explore strategies and to exchange knowledge and best practice in the field of social media for public service media with the wider EBU Membership.

The Members-only Summit, organised by the Eurovision Social Media Trends Group, is taking place at the London School of Economics on Thursday 26th March.

Social media is now an integral part of public service broadcasting. Maximising the use of social platforms has become key to making the case for public service media as it allows us to understand our audiences better and to be more relevant to them; to increase engagement and interactivity; to empower, curate and share stories and messages; and to become the most relevant source of information for our audiences.

The Summit will be followed on Friday 27th March by the annual Polis Journalism Conference at the same venue.

Speakers will include...

  • Cilla Benkö (Director-General, Swedish Radio)
  • Rasmus Thaarup  (Head of Social Media Research, DR)
  • Mukul Devichand (Creator of @BBCtrending, presenter and series producer)
  • Ingeborg Volan (Head of Social Media, NRK)
  • Laura-May Coope (social media strategist for the BBC, X Factor and MTV)
