The Digital Media Days brings together commissioning and producing editors in all kinds of departments, creative staff and planning editors - young talents, newcomers and media experts. We aim at creating dialogues between communities and colleagues of different areas and genres.

About the conference
Digital is touching upon every aspect of the way we create, produce and publish public service media content.
Our Media Department aims to inspire EBU Members with the latest digital trends and best practices, and to guide them through this culture change.
Colleagues from EBU Members are invited to join us in Lisbon for the first ever EBU Digital Media Days. This will not only be a forum to exchange ideas about how to reach digital audiences, but a space to define the role of public service media in the digital era, including our relationship with third-party distribution platforms.
Join us for this chance to discuss the latest issues affecting digital strategies and training, obstacles to harnessing big data, and production and storytelling trends in news, entertainment, fiction, music, sports and more.

Welcome evening
Come together for a stimulating evening.

There will be music, food and some magic conversation starters with Abracademy.
Abracademy is a Learning and Development company. They use wow-inducing magic combined with skilled facilitation as a tool to help people, and organisations, to grow. These L&D programmes shift mindset and unlock learning with great results.
Day 1 - Thursday 8:
Conference Day
The main conference will discuss new trends in digital media as well as storytelling innovation and producing for a diverse audiences.
The afternoon will offer two hubs in parallel. The conference session will focus on working together and creating digital content with new tools and technology. The hands-on session concentrates on inspiration for a new public service horizon: Developing new formats, learning from failures and how to create content together with creative communities.

Day 2 - Friday 9:
Workshop Day
This day is reserved for EBU Members only.
Interactive sessions for young audiences, news content, voice-user interfaces and digital storytelling with AR and VR will allow you to exchange ideas and best practice, as well as opportunities to work together in these fields.

According to the capacity of our venue we are now fully booked!
However, we would be delighted to have you all on board. If you are interested to join the event, we can add your name in a waiting-list in the case of cancellations or any options at all to add more colleagues, you will be notified and invited to join on a first come first served basis.

However, the following charges will apply:
Until 21st February: 50% of the fee of the registration before its cancellation
After 21st February: 100% of the fee of the registration before its cancellation
Accommodation
Czech Television has negotiated preferential rates with Radisson Blu Alcron Hotel, Panorama Hotel and Corinthia Hotel.
The final cut-off date is 22nd January 2018.
All delegates are responsible for their own hotel bookings and payments directly with the hotel.

Conference Day Speakers
Noel Curran
Directeur général de l'UER, UERNoel Curran a pris ses fonctions de Directeur général de l'UER en septembre 2017.
M. Curran a été rédacteur en chef, Directeur exécutif et enfin Directeur général de la RTÉ, la société nationale irlandaise de radio-télévision. En tant que Directeur général, il a profondément remanié la RTÉ après la crise financière qui a éclaté à la fin 2008, réussissant à faire du radiodiffuseur irlandais un organisme de médias dynamique et résolument axé sur le numérique.
M. Curran, qui est depuis longtemps un fervent défenseur des médias de service public, a aussi été producteur et journaliste d'investigation, dont le travail a été primé. Son travail de rédacteur et de producteur de programmes lui a valu d'être récompensé à maintes reprises. Noel Curran a aussi été producteur exécutif de nombreuses émissions de télévision en direct (parmi lesquelles l'édition 1997 du Concours Eurovision de la Chanson), de programmes sur les élections législatives, de série de divertissement et de programmes factuels.
Diplômé en études européennes et communication de la Dublin City University, avec une spécialisation en politique audiovisuelle nationale et internationale, M. Curran a aussi étudié au Trinity College de Dublin. Il est actuellement professeur adjoint de journalisme à la Dublin City University.
M. Curran est marié à la chanteuse Eimear Quinn, ancienne lauréate du Concours Eurovision de la Chanson, avec laquelle il a deux filles.

Frauke Langguth
Head of ARD Text, ARD, AllemagneFrauke Langguth is a multimedia journalist with extensive experience in print and TV, radio and online media (Radio Fritz, ORB / rbb and ORBOnline / rbb-Online). Since 2008, she has headed up ARD Text at Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg in Potsdam. Her responsibilities include the ARD Text newsflash service on the leading nationwide channel, DasErste, which for more than eight years has been the most successful German teletext service. Frauke is also an expert on accessibility. ARD Text provides subtitles for numerous programmes on the first and third ARD channels, with a focus on live subtitling. Other areas of responsibility include media development, social media, interactive television and smart TV (HbbTV).
