The Eurovision TV Summit has become the world’s leading event for public service media professionals. It provides unique opportunities for networking along with inspiring, informative meetings and conferences.
Organized by the EBU’s Eurovision TV in Lucerne, Switzerland, from 2 to 6 May 2011, the Eurovision TV Summit attracts experts, decision-makers and contributors in all sectors and genres of public service media. It features specialized experts meetings, sessions and conferences including the highlight of the event mid-week, the Common Focus Day. This year the Summit has been redesigned to provide delegates with the best possible experience with three objectives: Debate, Inspire, Discover. The theme of the 2011 Summit is:
Public Service TV 2020 – the future we will create
The Eurovision TV Summit aims to keep participants at the cutting edge of both traditional and cross-platform content creation and programming. In a world of converging media and shifting consumer habits, TV channels are reinventing themselves as multi-platform media services. This year’s Summit will provide a unique forum for PSBs to discuss opportunities and challenges and how to develop innovative quality programming.
2011 Eurovision TV Summit highlights
- The Common Focus Day with a revamped format will focus on the future of public service broadcasting, delving into how to engage and entertain new generations in an immersive way: 20/20 Vision – an eye opener.
- A newly designed special day of sessions will be held the day after the Common Focus Day, on 5 May, and will provide knowledge sharing in all genres and cross-genres.
- EBUconnect, the annual conference showing the best in EBU Members’ work in on-screen promotion, presentation, marketing and design, is on 5 & 6 May. The 2011 EBUconnect Awards will reward the best promotional piece.
