Jan Sneum, DR, Chair of Euroradio Eurosonic group, welcomes the participants in the splendid festival hall in Lyon's town hall, assisted by Hervé Riesen, RF, who organized with Radio France much of the conference.
The Euroradio Eurosonic Conference has just opened in the city of Lyon. The two-day event is hosted by Radio France, in partnership with the Nuits Sonores festival.
22 EBU Member organizations are represented in Lyon, as well as festival organizers, key record company representatives and media analysts.
As the media world and the music industry have changed drastically over the past few years, the relationship between music-based radio stations and listeners has also changed, with new players, new platforms and new listening habits.
The new challenge for radio stations is still to do what they do best, i.e. cater for their audience and to reach out to a new audience.
These two days will address this very important challenge, through case studies and special discussions.
