A number of programmes produced through Eurovision's Children & Youth activities are among the finalists for this year's Japan Prize. These include Found (Feelgood Fiction, Ltd. for the BBC), Israel Broadcasting Authority's Challenges-Hair Story and Czech Television's In Focus.
"These shows reflect honestly the situation that children face in many parts of Europe and are very appealing to the hearts of the viewers," said Japan Broadcasting Corporation's (NHK) Deputy Secretary-General Mariko Saeki.
The Japan Prize, EBU Associate Member NHK's international contest for educational media, will mark its 40th edition from 17 - 24 October. The event will showcase the top educational contents from around the world, and will bring together experts in educational media from around the globe.
Established in 1965, the competition seeks out the best in audiovisual educational content from linear TV programs, videos and movies to non-linear formats, such as websites and interactive games.
The prestigious award aims to promote the development of creative, engaging educational content in light of the ever changing challenges of new technologies and digital platforms.
Delegate registration is now open through to 10 October. Details of the event and the registration can be found at NHK's website. A full list of the finalists along with trailers of the programmes are also available.
