Results of Concertino Praga 2014

Matous Kopácek, clarinet, from the Czech Republic, is the overall winner of the Concertino Praga competition 2014. The Jury session took place on 8th and 9th February 2014 at Czech Radio in Prague. The Jurors listened to 22 recordings in total in following categories: clarinet, oboe, basoon, flute and trumpet. The recordings represented seven countries: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Russia and Slovenia.

The International Radio Competition for Young Musicians Concertino Praga, which has been organized by Czech Radio since 1966, concentrates on young beginning performers aged 18 or under. The competition is held in different categories in a three-year cyle, each year either in the categories violin, piano, cello and guitar, woodwinds such as flute, oboe, clarinet and trumpet, or in the chamber music category, either performed in a duo or a quintet. A National Radio Competition Concertino Praga takes place ahead of the international competition. A five-member jury chooses the best candidates, who advanced to the international round and represent the Czech Republic there.
