Deadline extended for Rose d'Or 2014

Broadcasters and programme makers have a further two weeks to finalise their submissions for the Rose d’Or – the world’s most prestigious entertainment awards event.

The deadline to enter the 17 September awards ceremony in Berlin has been extended to 14 April to accommodate technical difficulties some entrants experienced uploading their entries.

Eurovision director Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser says the matter has now been rectified.

“At the heart of the Rose d’Or is a desire to be inclusive and to ensure that stand-out programmes are given the opportunity to shine,” Ms Nyberg Frankenhaeuser said. “The awards ceremony is a moment to be recognised by renowned judges, international broadcasters, respected media and industry peers.”

With a total of nine categories, the Rose d’Or awards cement their status as the biggest and most influential entertainment awards event.

The categories for television and online video include Arts, Factual & Reality Entertainment, Game Show, Comedy, Sitcom, and Entertainment; and three brand new categories introduced for radio: Comedy, Entertainment, and Reality & Factual Entertainment.

European nations currently top the list of participating countries but entries have also been submitted from the United States, Canada, Israel and Japan, with a particular focus on the comedy, reality and factual entertainment categories.
