New Radio Day Conference: Final Registration Call

Music aggregation platforms will be the focus of the second New Radio Day event to be hosted by Euroradio  Member VRT (Belgium) in Leuven (6/7 November).

Experienced music producers and editors from the Euroradio community will share their vision for the future with representatives of the new music platforms and music industry.

Head of Radio, Christian Vogg says the EBU is ideally placed to lead discussions.

“A decade ago there were only a handful of avenues open to learn about new music,” said Mr Vogg. “Listeners would rely on their favourite radio station, a music store stocking the latest CDs, or attend a music festival. Today, the broad range of digital platforms offer a cost-effective choice. We can listen and download millions of songs, which represents a revolutionary change. The question is, how should radio stations react to this trend? This year, New Radio Day will focus on answers.”

Other programme highlights include sessions on:

  • BBC Playlister, which enables users to export BBC music lists to their personal spotify account
  • MusicBan – a software solution which substitutes radio tracks with a private selection
  • WDR3 concert player – a 30 day concert room on the web
  • Country showcases
  • Audience research
  • Panel discussions involving industry experts
