Partnership Programme: Ukraine’s fledgling public broadcaster bolstered by training in values

Ukraine’s public broadcasters have begun the new year with an active demonstration of their commitment to strengthen public service media (PSM) values.

The training ‘Public Service values unite’ was arranged for staff of National Television of Ukraine (NTU) and National Radio Company of Ukraine (NRCU) by media executives Khrystyna Stebelska, Olena Zelinchenko, Yaryna Skurativska and Victoria Polchenko.

The in-house programme was set up with help from the Eurovision ACADEMY and the EBU Partnership Programme in conjunction with the European Commission as a further step in NTU’s transition from state to public service broadcaster.

All 38 participants took part in creative exercises designed to explore the core values share by PSM. So far, 40 trainers from 10 EBU Members have been trained to deliver courses on PSM values since 2013.
