EBU Member RTBF named public organisation of the year in French-speaking Belgium
10 mars 2015
The EBU's Belgian Member has been declared public organisation of the year 2015 by the body representing the French-speaking community of Belgium. The decision by the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles was unveiled at a ceremony in Bruxelles.
RTBF beat off competition from the regional branding organisation Wallonie-Bruxelles International, as well as the respected CHU in Liege, the only teaching hospital in the Walloon region.
The award was created in 2014 by Ernst and Young in partnership with the financial newspaper "L'Echo" and the banking organisation BNP Paribas Fortis. Ernst and Young say the aim is to highlight and honour the strength and indispensable contribution made by public organisations. The message is that the public sector is a modern environment which brings talented people together in organisations where the objectives and results are clearly defined and measured, the organisers say.
The award was accepted by RTBF Administrator-General Jean-Paul Phillipot, who is also President of the EBU. RTBF described the accolade as a fitting tribute to the work of all the management and employees of the organisation.
