Television executive Janusz Daszczynski is to take the helm of Polish public broadcaster TVP.

His appointment and that of two new board members – Wieslaw Rola and Marian Zalewski – are expected to be confirmed by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) at its next meeting, following a recommendation of the Supervisory Board.

Mr Daszczynski is a manager and journalist and has held a number of positions at TVP; he was a member of the first two management teams at the station.

He is currently the Deputy Commissioner General at EXPO 15 in Milan.
