Presentations from the recent EBU Knowledge Exchange in Geneva are now available online at the event page on EBU.ch.
The 3rd edition of the event, held at EBU Headquarters between 14 and 15 September, brought together EBU Members, media professionals and communications scholars for a day of discussion and ideas on the theme of Public Service Media's Contribution to Society.
Among the highlights, keynote speaker Prof. Gregory F. Lowe from the University of Tampere, discussed how “Value” determines the potential for social impact. Beatriz Garcia from the University of Liverpool revealed how investing in culture, to regenerate urban and regional economies, can have a positive social, environmental and economic impact on a city. The Head of the EBU's Media Intelligence Service Roberto Suárez Candel argued why its important to measure the contribution PSM makes to society.
For the first time this year’s event included a second day exclusively for EBU Members. These broadcasters benefited from workshops where they had the opportunity to report how they assess their contribution to society which led to a group discussion with a particular focus on the methodology they use and the challenges to overcome.
