Why Poverty? was launched by Anna Vasova, EBU Head of Factual, together with the major broadcasters behind Steps International, a non-profit organization comprising EBU Members that produces the event. Why Poverty? is a global TV movement that will reach 500 million people in November 2012 by looking at why, in the 21st century, a billion people still live in destitution. Forty public service broadcasters worldwide have already committed to the project.
