Eurovision TV Summit announces child prodigy Adora Svitak as speaker

Thirteen-year-old Adora Svitak is confirmed as guest speaker at this year’s Eurovision TV Summit (to be held in Lucerne from 2 to 6 May) organized by the EBU. Adora was recently awarded the NEA Foundation Award for Outstanding Service to Public Education. This prize has previously been awarded to former President Bill Clinton and Title IX advocate Billie Jean King.
Joergen Franck, Eurovision TV Director at the EBU, says, “It is a great honour to have Adora Svitak as a guest speaker on the Common Focus Day at the Eurovision TV Summit. She is an inspiration to children and adults alike and will open the day which is focusing on Public Service TV 2020 – The future we will create.”
Adora Svitak is from Redmond, Washington and could read and write simple words aged 2½ , wrote short stories at 4 and, at 13, is already a published author, an accomplished speaker and the youngest individual to receive this prestigious award.
The Eurovision TV Summit is the world’s leading event for public service media and will provide a unique opportunity for PSBs to discuss the opportunities and challenges that are presented and how to develop innovative quality programming.
With a broad yet focused view on 20/20 Vision, the Common Focus Day on 4 May will feature a range of exciting discussions on a future broadcast environment including how children currently consume TV and how we can, as public service broadcasters, adapt to the fast-moving demands of a connected audience.
