EBU leaders to address PBI 2012

Senior EBU executives will play leading roles in the 21st Public Broadcasters International conference, which opens today in London.

Hosted by the BBC, PBI 2012 invites the world's public service media to challenge conventions, share PSM experiences and showcase their most compelling content and innovations.

On day two of PBI EBU Director General Ingrid Deltenre will open a debate on the evolving role of PSM in the competitive world of sports rights.

EBU Executive Board member and Acting Head of BBC Vision, Roger Mosey, is scheduled to give a talk about the BBC’s pioneering London 2012 Olympic Games coverage, a project he directed.

In addition, EBU Executive Board members Rémy Pflimlin, CEO, France Télévisions and Cilla Benkö, Director General, Swedish Radio, will contribute to a session looking at new ways of funding PSM.

And Asun Gómez Bueno, TVE’s Head International Partnership and Planning, who is chairman of the EBU News Committee, will provide insights about the importance of covering elections impartially.

PBI runs from November 7 – 9 at the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre, in London.
