Investigative journalists and producers have until Friday to submit entries to the 19th edition of the Ilaria Alpi Prize, organized in conjunction with EBU Member Radiotelevisione Italiana (RAI).
The international competition honours former RAI journalist Ilaria Alpi, who was murdered along with her cameraman in 1994 in Mogadishu, Somalia, while investigating corruption. Past round tables have included CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Salima Ghezali (Director of La Nation), Robert Menard (Director of Reporters Sans Frontières) and Amy Goodman (Democracy Now!). Societal issues ranging from freedom of the press to war reporting to fighting organized crime, are discussed at the annual event.
The Ilaria Alpi Prize, which takes place under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic, will be presented in Riccione in Northern Italy on the 5, 6, 7 September,
