Euroradio Summer Festivals kick off with almost 400 live concerts

They span the most prestigious summer festivals throughout Europe and they are all LIVE: the 2013 Euroradio Summer Festivals officially began on 17 June. These 391 exceptional concerts constitute one of Euroradio’s most exciting high-quality music offers.

From now until 15 September, at least two concerts will be broadcast each day from festivals like Salzburg, the BBC Proms or Bayreuth. This year marks not only the 200th anniversary of the birth of Wagner and Verdi, but also the centenary of Britten's 100th birth, promising us a score of beautiful concerts and operas.

To give just one example of what awaits listeners this summer, Radio France will bring us a star-studded programme featuring Renaud Capuçon, Lang Lang and Roberto Alagna: see the Pink Offer

For Early Music buffs, there will be the Huelgas Ensemble at the Utrecht Early Music Festival: see the Pink Offer

All concerts are being technically coordinated by the Euroradio Control Centre in Geneva, under the supervision of EBU staff and assisted by six Euroradio engineers sent to Geneva by EBU Member organizations.
