24 octobre 2013
Six public service broadcasters are in the running for Saturday's 'Prix Genève Europe' prize, which will be presented during the awards ceremony of the Prix Europa Festival taking place this week in Berlin.
The category of 'Best TV Fiction Script' by a new writer was created in 1987 by the European Alliance for Television & Culture (EATC)* under the auspices of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), which operates Eurovision and Euroradio.
Head of Eurovision TV, Bettina Brinkmann says the entries have been partnered by six EBU Members, including RSI (Italy), YLE (Finland) and NPO (The Netherlands) and German broadcasters RBB, ZDF and WDR.
"For more than 25 years, this prize has been a source of encouragement to new writers seeking to break into tv," said Ms Brinkmann. "The Prix Europa Festival is a magnet for media talent – the festival showcases the best of European tv and radio. We firmly believe in the responsibility of PSM to help new talent onto that creative stage."

- Best European TV Documentary of the Year 2013
- Best European TV Drama of the Year 2013
- Best European TV Fiction Series or Serial of the Year 2013

The day before the awards, a Plenary Meeting of the Euroradio Culture Group will take place.

The meeting will also elect the Chairman, Vice-Chairman and the five members of the Group for 2014-2015.
