Euroradio offers new managers free entry to RadioDays Europe
18 janvier 2016
Euroradio is offering three colleagues from Member organizations the chance to attend one of the industry’s key events for free.
The EBU will fund three entrance fees to RadioDays Europe in Paris from 13-15 March through an arrangement with the organization. Each one is worth around €800.
The initiative is open to those who have been working in leadership/managerial roles for less than two years, within any area of activity relating to radio, including production, channel management, strategy or technical provision.
“Making a successful transition into a leadership role can prove a challenging and exciting career moment,” said EBU Head of Radio Graham Dixon.
“In our fast-moving organizations, with their continual demands, the opportunity to learn and reflect may happen all too rarely. RadioDays Europe provides an excellent opportunity to hear the experiences of colleagues from broadcasting organizations across the world; to learn about developments and initiatives in the radio sector, and to network with peoples who share similar interests and challenges,” he added.
While in Paris, the EBU will bring the three selected new managers together for informal discussions, and give them the chance to meet and learn from each other. The core activity, however, will simply be attending the conference, and the delegates will be responsible for choosing the events which look most relevant to them.
Following the event each selected manager will be asked to submit a brief report of 500 words on what they have learned from the experience of attending. Those selected will be responsible for financing their own travel, accommodation and insurance through their own organizations.
An application form is available on this page. Selection will be made by the EBU, in consultation with the Radio Committee Chairman, on the basis of the candidate’s description of what they would hope to gain from the experience of attending.
Forms need to be submitted to [email protected] by Tuesday 2 February and a selection should be made by the end of that week.
