The EBU Executive Board met today with the European Commission President Barroso. The group was headed by Mr. Jean-Paul Philippot, President of the European Broadcasting Union.

Discussions focused on the role of public service media in the Information Society and within the EU's Digital Agenda as well as the importance they give to cultural diversity and media pluralism in all programmes, television, radio or on new platforms. The EBU's views on net neutrality, spectrum policy and copyright were also discussed.

Finally, EBU Members highlighted their committed to delivering accurate, independent and impartial coverage of the EU.  EBU active Members have as many as 237 correspondents in Brussels to report on EU affairs.
