TeliaSonera: Eurovision 2013 Presenting Partner

TeliaSonera, one of Europe's leading telecommunications companies, has been named Presenting Partner for next year's Eurovision Song Contest, in Malmö, Sweden.

The partnership was confirmed by European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Media Director Annika Nyberg Frankenhaeuser, on November 21.

"We are very pleased to welcome back TeliaSonera as the Presenting Partner for 2013," Ms Nyberg Frankenhaeuser said. "We had excellent cooperation with them in 2007 and are very happy to renew their involvement next May."

TeliaSonera is Europe's fifth largest telecommunications company, with a presence in the Nordic and Baltic countries, Spain, and the emerging markets of Eurasia, including Russia and Turkey. TeliaSonera was also the Presenting Partner for the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest, in Helsinki.

"We have been partnering the Swedish contest for a number of years. Now we want to take it one step further by bringing hundreds of millions of people closer together than ever before for a great celebration in May," says Cecilia Edström, Head of Group Communications at TeliaSonera. "As one of Europe’s leading operators we are perfectly positioned to use our international strength, deep local understanding, technological mastery and insight into people’s lives to help make the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 the most networked and personal digital experience ever."

As the Presenting Partner for 2013, TeliaSonera has been granted extensive pan-European media, association, event and new media rights for the upcoming events in Sweden.

The 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, hosted by EBU Member and Swedish public broadcaster SVT, will take place in Malmö on May 18, following Semi-Finals on May 14 and 16.
