Euroradio International Features Conference to take inspiration from Eastern Europe trends

Documentary makers attending this year’s Euroradio International Features Conference in Poland (17-21 May) will be encouraged to ‘Look East’ for inspiration.

More than 120 professionals will take part in the 41st edition of the conference, which assembles authors, editors, producers and directors to exchange ideas and discuss trends shaping programming throughout the world.

This year’s event will be hosted by Polskie Radio Lublin, with the support of the city of Lublin, which for centuries served as a bridge between different cultures, religions and traditions.

Conference highlights will include a session on the work of Polish radio documentary maker Anna Sekudewicz, who has been awarded more than 60 prizes in national and international competitions ( Prix Italia, The Golden Microphone, The Master of Radio).

From 2003-2009, Anna represented Polish Radio Broadcasting in the EBU Radio Documentary Project Group.

The presentation will include fragments of six features focusing on Poland's recent history, politics and political commentary, social or community intervention, psychology, culture, art and investigative journalism.

The conference also seeks to encourage new talent. Young radio documentary makers will be given the opportunity to present their programmes and participate in feedback sessions.
