10. EBU contribution to the European Commission consultation on Generative AI

Our submission highlights the challenges generative AI poses to the media and makes the case for policies and regulations that foster innovation while allowing public service media to benefit from Generative AI. 

9. EBU contribution to the European Commission consultation on the Multiannual Financial Framework

We call on the EU to prioritize robust support for media innovation within the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF). Such an investment would equip public media to drive audience engagement, innovate, and safeguard trustworthy journalism. A well-designed MFF can bolster democratic resilience, counter disinformation, and reduce reliance on non-European digital infrastructure.

8. EBU contribution to the consultation on the protection of minors guidelines under the Digital Services Act

Our contribution calls for the protection of minors guidance under the DSA to align with all relevant EU legislation, especially the Audiovisual Media Services Directive and to reflect the sector-specific European Media Freedom Act principles.

Our contribution stresses the essential democratic role of independent media and calls for the European Democracy Shield to safeguard a free, independent, and pluralistic media landscape, alongside a fair and safe online environment.
