Eurovision Song Contest celebrates 60th anniversary with revamped logo

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has refreshed the Eurovision Song Contest generic logo ahead of the hugely popular entertainment programme's 60th edition, set to take place in Austria in May 2015.

The revision comes a decade after the release of a standard logo that has been used every year, accompanied by specific theme art designed by each host broadcaster.

Song Contest Executive Supervisor Jon Ola San explained that it was time for an update. "After conducting research amongst participating broadcasters, thousands of regular viewers and other important stakeholders, it was clear that the logo, as widely recognised as it is, was due for a revamp after having served 11 editions of the contest."

He added that the renewed look still reflects the household name that contest has become - with its longstanding history of international engagement through entertainment - while also looking to the future. "We hope that the Eurovision Song Contest will be enjoyed by more fans in more countries and, of course, promote top talent for another 60 years to come."
