Joint session - EBU Legal and Policy AI group and EBU Audio and Radio Futures network

The session will focus on the practical implementation of the EU AI Act in public service media, with particular attention to audio and radio services.

As the transparency obligations under Article 50(4) of the AI Act come into effect on 2 August, many organisations are considering how to implement disclosure requirements for AI-generated and AI-manipulated content. The session will raise awareness of the new rules, share practical experiences, and encourage discussion.

Moderated by Nicky Birch (BBC), the session will include:

• Introduction by Sophia Wistehube (EBU) on Article 50(4) of the AI Act and its implementation
• Erwin Maussen (VRT) on VRT’s implementation of the new AI Act disclosure rules and ongoing initiatives
• Katharina Zeschke (ZAC Audio-Consulting) on practical considerations for AI transparency and disclosure in audio and radio production
