Engage, Empower, Enjoy!
This high-level Conference will look at the status of culture and content in EU media policy and invite participants to think the future of EU policies in this field
The “Engage, Empower, Enjoy! A Future Media Agenda for Europe” Conference will focus on what can and needs to be done to ensure that the media ecosystem remains driven by the creation of great content reaching audiences the way they want it.
In particular, the Conference will highlight the need to refocus on the cultural, societal and democratic role of the media, an element that seems to have lost prominence in EU policies over the past few years. In this regard, the conference will shine a spotlight on the values and key role played by public service media.
Including footage of top television and radio programmes, interviews with key decision makers and thinkers in the media sector, demonstrations of the latest innovations in the media sector, and a dynamic newsroom-like set-up, “Engage, Empower, Enjoy!” will give policy makers and stakeholders the possibility to meet those who are driving innovation for audiences every day. It will provide a forum to discuss challenges, opportunities and solutions in a long-term perspective.
The day culminates in the prestigious Rose d’Or awards, which will be announced at a gala dinner celebration of the “best of the best” in entertainment programming.
The Conference is part of the Eurovision AND Euroradio event, running from 28 to 31 May in Brussels.
