National workshop on public service news - BHRT
On 14-15 May, designated journalists and editors of BHRT, EBU's member in Bosnia and Herzegovina, will participate in a national workshop on Public Service News.
The training is a part of a series workshops in the so-called "EU Enlargement countries" organised by the EBU Partnership Programme with co-financing from the European Union .
The two-day national workshop at BHRT will build on a curriculum developed and fine-tuned by experts from the Eurovision ACADEMY, trainers, senior editors and managers during a regional seminar held in Zagreb in December 2012. Part of an EBU action plan to strengthen public service media in EU accession countries, the tailor-made training will help journalists and news editors to work in accordance with the standards and values of public service media (PSM) and to analyse what distinguishes PSM from commercial broadcasters.
The national workshops adapted to the needs of each EBU Members in the region will be followed by a regional “train the trainers” workshop for promising individuals identified in the national workshops. These national trainers will then roll-out a fully fledged training operation at national level, assisted, when needed, by the Eurovision ACADEMY.
The Partnership Programme has already organized similar workshops this year in Albania, Kosovo and Serbia (in both RTS and RTV).
