The forthcoming World Broadcasting Unions International Satellite Operations Group (WBU-ISOG) Forum will be hosted by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in Geneva from 18 to 19 November.

The WBU-ISOG Forum, which meets twice a year, exists to provide international perspective on key satellite communications issues for news operations, special events, fibre and satellite carriers and equipment service providers.  

The following are just some of the topics that wil be covered:

  • UHDTV – what, when and how much?
  • Integrated Broadcast Broadband – how can greater world alignment be achieved?
  • Metadata contribution
  • What happens to sports coverage and contribution in the coming years?
  • Fibre contribution networks – will fibre kill satellites?
