Pitching session for Science and Knowledge projects

For the second year, the Eurovision Science & Knowledge Group will organize its pitching session for Science and Knowledge projects on Tuesday 23 June 2015, in La Rochelle (France), in cooperation with the Festival Sunny Side of the Doc.

About the Science & Knowledge Pitching Session selection

We are looking for ambitious projects, aimed at a prime time, international audience. In particular, we seek programmes that enhance awareness of Science and Knowledge topics in a compelling, story-driven way.

Members from the Eurovision Science & Knowledge group evaluate all projects received paying particular attention to the following criteria:

• Originality
• Relevance
• International appeal
• Feasibility
• Special attention is given to projects that have a cross media approach

7 selected pitches

EBU Member broadcasters put forward 20 project proposals, all of excellent quality, to compete for a chance to pitch their project to decision makers and broadcasters attending Sunny Side of the Doc. The following 7 projects were selected and will be presented at the times listed below:

12:00 Pitch #4: Building Chernobyl’s Mega Tomb / PBS (U.S.A)
12:15 Pitch #5: Bugs: Nature’s Little Superheroes / ARD/NDR (Germany) & a&o buero (Germany)
12:30 Pitch #6: The Mind Of The Universe / VPRO (The Netherlands)
12:45 Pitch #7: Magic Moments In Evolution – The Story Of Life / ZDF Enterprises (Germany) & Gruppe 5 (Germany)
13:00: Closing

Please note

Projects may be submitted by any commissioning editor belonging to an EBU Member or by any independent producer provided a letter of intent signed by a commissioning editor belonging to an EBU Member is attached to the submission.

Commissioning Editors’ presence at the pitch is compulsory.

Single pitches will last max 14 minutes (7’ pitch including trailer (max 3’) and 7’ Q&As).
