EBU Expert Workshop on the regulation of audiovisual platforms

The regulatory environment for platforms and online intermediaries is the subject of an ongoing examination by the European Commission and the question of regulating audiovisual platforms in particular is a key issue for the forthcoming revision of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive.

The EBU hosted an expert workshop with leading European academics to examine the legal framework for audiovisual media platforms and to develop possible solutions from a media or competition law perspective. A particular focus was given to the means to ensure the findability of public value content and the protection of minors.
