VOX Meeting
The EBU VOX Group is a member-led expert group across the EBU Digital, Radio and Technology & Innovation departments. It includes representatives from Member broadcasters who have strategic interests for the future of Audio and Video with the advent of voice-controlled digital assistants.
The VOX group meets at least twice a year to discuss what's new in the voice assistants world and to share knowledge and best practices. The agenda for the next VOX meeting, that will take place within the EBU New Radio Day context in Rome, is as follows:
- 14:00 – 15:00 – Tour de table: three sunshines and a cloud. Each Organization shares three things they're proud of and one thing that didn't work as they expected, followed by discussion
- 15:00 – 16:00 – Short presentations from EBU Members on cases related to subjects of strategic importance
- Locally adapted voice services: the case of BBC's Beeb
- Aggregation: how to deal with aggregation with other platforms
- Audience value for the organization: how to make sure to extract the most value through putting experiences in the ecosystem, and how to measure the value produced
- Initial feedbacl on gesture activated devices
- 16:00 – 17:00 – Brainstorm approaches to each area: after having heard about the topics above and collected questions, the room breaks into groups to try and find some answers and possible ways forward (40 minutes discussions – 20 minutes reporting back to the room)
