The EBU AI Forum brought together 200 senior decision-makers from public service media (PSM) to focus on turning experimentation into strategy, governance, implementation and investment priorities.
In his opening remarks, EBU Deputy Director General Jean Philip De Tender noted the dramatic progress made by PSM in a few years, from early exploration to structured approaches to AI adoption, clearer governance frameworks and strategic direction.
Held on 25 March 2026, in Brussels, the AI Forum combined keynotes, panels and interactive sessions, with speakers from EBU Members and industry sharing practical insights into AI-driven innovation and responsible deployment.
Award-winning reporter and author of ‘Empire of AI’ Karen Hao delivered a cautionary perspective on the rise of leading AI companies and their broader implications. She urged prudence in engaging with the technology companies, who she said could and should do more to mitigate their social and environmental impacts.
The AI Forum also featured hands-on demonstrations and a practical workshop led by the EBU Academy’s School of AI on moving from experimentation to real-world deployment.
