Digital Media Days 2017
Defining the digital ecosystem of public service media (Lisbon, 23-25 Jan)
A record 220 delegates from nearly 40 EBU Members took part in the first EBU Digital Media Days event in Lisbon.
For the first time the EBU brought together not only digital experts, but also experts in fiction, news, sports, big data, young audiences, music and many more to discuss how digital has impacted their corresponding fields.
Day 1 focussed on strategy – how Members can redefine their role and services to stay relevant to audiences; The second day looked at storytelling for the digital era; including audience participation, data-driven content production, immersive and interactive experiences and web-series. Day 3 saw more niche workshops surrounding news and sport content.
Digital is touching upon every aspect of the way we create, produce and publish public service media content.
Our Media Department aims to inspire EBU Members with the latest digital trends and best practices, and to guide them through this culture change.
Colleagues from EBU Members are invited to join us in Lisbon for the first ever EBU Digital Media Days. This will not only be a forum to exchange ideas about how to reach digital audiences, but a space to define the role of public service media in the digital era, including our relationship with third-party distribution platforms.
Join us for this chance to discuss the latest issues affecting digital strategies and training, obstacles to harnessing big data, and production and storytelling trends in news, entertainment, fiction, music, sports and more.
From case studies to networking activities, learn about the latest solutions and opportunites for working with other participants.
The agenda is designed to allow you to choose the sessions and workshops that interest you most.
