EBU Music Rights for Media Orchestras Survey Report

Music is at the core of programming on public service media, and the importance of rights in this field can't be overstated. To better understand the current situation, the EBU Music Unit conducted a trilogy of surveys among EBU organizations. This Survey Report on Music Rights for Media Orchestras is the third and final report of the series, following the Survey Reports on Popular Music and Classical Music (radio channels). It is divided into several sections and examines how EBU media orchestras manage recordings, broadcasting, and digital rights, as well as how they negotiate and exploit media rights with artists, agents, labels, publishers, and platforms. It also addresses contractual practices, audiovisual content, and commercial uses.
