Media Ensemble Survey 2023 Report

This report presents the results of the public service Media Ensembles survey addressed to media orchestras across Europe, conducted between November 2022 and May 2023. The EBU Media Ensemble Group commissioned this survey to gather concrete knowledge about the EBU’s network of public orchestras. The sponsor of this research is Michel Orier, Director of Radio France’s Music and Creation Department.

The EBU Media Ensemble community has significantly broadened its remit since January 2022, when it was recognized by the EBU Radio Committee as an official EBU expert group. As a recently formed community, it needs to get to know the network better and develop relationships with individual member representatives, while highlighting the most distinctive features and projects among media orchestras and identifying areas in need of support and concrete constructive action, such as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Sustainability.
