EBU DG Ingrid Deltenre to open Europe's biggest radio event

RADIODAYS EUROPE - Europe´s biggest radio event - is taking place in Copenhagen on 17-18 March. Ingrid Deltenre, the Director-General of the EBU, is opening this year's conference, which is expected to attract 500 radio professionals from more than 40 countries.

Radio is facing many challenges and the organizers believe it is important that the whole industry meets to discuss the medium's future. Radiodays Europe brings together public broadcasters and private radios in Europe, making it the “European meeting point for radio”.

It is an annual event that was held for the first time last year. Radiodays Europe has gained support from the EBU and other broadcaster organizations across Europe.

During the two days there will be 40 sessions with discussions about radio´s future, presentations of new research and sharing of best practices. Among the speakers are Tim Davie, Head of Audio and Music, BBC, Dean Cappello (public radio in New York) and Daniel Domscheit-Berg, the former Wikileaks spokesperson.

The conference is also an opportunity to learn about the latest developments and get inspired by all the great radio personalities and exciting programmes that millions of Europeans love to listen to every day.

One of the themes is radio´s future in mobile phones. Speakers come from Google, Nokia and others from the mobile phones industry.

Other speakers are Dennis Clark (Producer, USA), Sharon Dustor (Z100, USA), Clive Dickens (Absolute, UK), Maurice Gully (WDR, Germany), Rosario Pellecchia (Radio 105, Italy), Cilla Benkö (SR, Sweden) Morgan Davy Serrano (NRJ, France), Els Van de Sijpe, (VRT, Belgium), Paula Cordeiro (Researcher, Portugal) and many, many more.
